Forbes Top 50 Women in Tech include EPIC’s danah boyd and Sherry Turkle

EPIC Advisory Board Members danah Boyd and Sherry Turkle made Forbes “Top 50 Women in Tech” list. It’s a well deserved achievement.

danah boyd, is the founder and president of Data & Society, a research institute focused on understanding the role data-driven technologies in society. She is also a Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research, and a Visiting Professor at New York University. Dr. boyd received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Brown University and a master’s degree in sociable media from MIT Media Lab. She received her doctorate in 2008 from the School of Information at the University of California-Berkeley.

Sherry Turkle is a professor, author, consultant, researcher and licensed clinical psychologist who has spent the last 30 years researching the psychology of people’s relationships with technology. She is the Abby Rockefeller Mauz_ Professor of the Social Studies of Science and Technology in the Program in Science, Technology, and Society at MIT, and founder and current director of the MIT Initiative on Technology and Self, a center of research and reflection on the evolving connections between people and artifacts.  Read more of their bios and see our full list of Advisory Board members here.
